Drone scan of the Arthur River Mt Pleasant Kitchen built in 1869 to cater for travellers, sandalwood cutters and settlers
Drone Structure Scan - Heritage Cottage
Drone Structure Scan of the heritage building Mt Pleasant Kitchen in Arthur River, Western Australia using a Mavic Pro and photogrammetry processing with Drone Deploy.
Mission Summary
Goal: To drone scan a heritage cottage and capture the details under the veranda
Tech: DJI Mavic Pro, Drone Deploy
Conditions: Midday, sunny, moderate wind, extremely hot (45 degrees celcius)
Outcome: On a stinking hot day I used three/four orbit rings plus some handheld pics under the veranda to create one of my best scans yet. The detail under the veranda and the eaves would not have possible without the 'camera angled up' feature on the Mavic Pro.
The stats from Drone Deploy show the resolution and accuracy of the scan
Even the plants are looking great in the scan. Also see the accuracy under the veranda
This image shows the level of detail captured under the veranda
Beautiful stonework captured in a virtual 3D model
The textures in the model are great and the detail in the sign creates a real point of interest
3D model of the Kulin water slide created using drone images
Drone Site Scan - Public Infrastructure
Drone site scan of the famous Kulin Water Slide using a Mavic Pro and photogrammetry processing with Drone Deploy.
Mission Summary
Goal: To demonstrate the effectiveness of a drone site scan of public infrastructure for marketing or asset monitoring purposes.
Tech: DJI Mavic Pro, Drone Deploy
Conditions: Late morning, sunny, moderate wind
Outcome: Whilst it was a warm day and upon takeoff the drone was swarmed by 100 pink and grey galahs we managed to site scan the Kulin pool and water slide before any patrons arrived. Note: Permission from the Pool Manager was granted for the drone scan

3D model of the Fremantle South Mole lighthouse created using drone images
Drone Structure Scan - Heritage Lighthouse
Drone structure scan of the heritage South Mole Lighthouse in Fremantle, Western Australia using a Mavic Pro and photogrammetry processing with Drone Deploy.
Mission Summary
Goal: To create a digital virtual twin of the Fremantle South Mole lighthouse using Mavic Pro and Drone Deploy technologies.
Tech: DJI Mavic Pro, Drone Deploy
Conditions: Midday, overcast, high wind
Outcome: Despite the many challenges; high wind, busy light aircraft corridor, having to land twice because of helipad activity this was a very rewarding drone flight and scan.
Designed by C.Y. O''Connor and built in 1903
A clear view of the old gun defences erected during WWII next to the lighthouse
Spot the sign hanging in mid-air. :)

3D model of site - The area that needs to be surveyed is the field just below the circular storage units
Mission Summary
Goal: Use drone scanning to create contours to assist in the design of an emergency hardstand.
Tech: DJI Phantom 4 Pro, Drone Deploy
Conditions: Afternoon, sunny, moderate wind
Outcome: This proved to be an extremely effective way of gathering elevation data and converting that into contours to help Civil Designers plan an emergency hardstand area.
High resolution orthomosaic of the existing site plus the field below where the emergency handstand is to be constructed
With the elevation gradient it's much easier to understand the levels and slope of the area
The contours that were used by the Civil Designers for use in software such as AutoCAD and 12D

3D drone scanned model of stone groin off Sanur, Bali
Drone Structure Scan - Maritime Infrastructure
Drone structure scan of a stone groin off the coast of Sanur, Bali using a DJI Spark and photogrammetry processing with AgiSoft PhotoScan.
Mission Summary
Goal: Check out the effectiveness of the DJI Spark for mapping and structure scan, whilst on holiday overseas.
Tech: DJI Phantom Spark, AgiSoft PhotoScan
Conditions: Morning, sunny, moderate wind
Outcome: The DJI Spark is an excellent mapping tool. It is small, light, innocuous, has great range (this island was a good 300m off shore) and a good sensor.
